Transformational Politics

Friends,

If you feel, as I do, that we need to write a new chapter in American history – in President Kennedy’s words, not seeking “a Republican answer or a Democratic answer, but the right answer” – then I hope you will invest in my campaign for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

And what is the right answer? To me, it's the answer of the heart...of deep concern for each other and for the earth itself. Please click here to help me create a politics of conscience.

On issue after issue – from the poisonous influence of moneyed interests on our politics; to income inequality and the destruction of our middle class; to the ravages of climate change and the corruption of our food supply; to hunger and child poverty and the moral scourge of our mass incarceration rate – America is facing a confluence of crises today that our political system seems incapable of handling. And all of these for one reason only: that over the last few decades, we've made money rather than love our bottom line.

I’m not saying that if you help elect me to a seat in Congress, all our problems will be solved. But I am saying that if you help elect me to Congress, I will use my voice in whatever way possible to steer the conversation in a new direction. A direction in which our government is once again “of the people, by the people and for the people,” rather than “of a few of the people, by a few of the people and for a few of the people.” A direction in which people are placed above profits, average citizens wield more power than political elites, and the health of our children takes priority over the earnings of corporations. Every American has the right to expect that, and if I go to Washington, I will say so.

I cannot do this without your help, however. This will only happen if we make it happen it together.

Please donate at least $5 today! Even with a small donation, you will help create a new, transformational chapter in American politics.

Thank you for your support. I know in my heart that this campaign can rock.

All my best,
Marianne
